I'll start off with what you're here for. The food was amazing. The flavors were all there and it was all very fresh and great portion sizes. I would be doing the restaurant a disservice if I didnt mention their service either. The waiter was willing to walk me through the menu and tell me about what makes each dish different and what the experience would be with each item. I heard him do the same for others too. When I was in the small store up front, the lady behind the counter was eager to help me as well. I had a great experience here and I highly encourage others to try it as well. VERY worth the hour drive to get there.

Homemade Polish food. What is not to like? The food is good and the portions are large. :) Taste of Poland dish for two is a great sharing option.

Fantastic and well executed food!! Unlike some of the other reviewers, I have nothing to gauge this Polish food against. I do draw from two decades of preparing food from all over the world and the closest to this that I’ve worked with is German food. The mixed pierogis and meatballs I devoured were awesome, exceptionally prepared, and presented. The waitress Grażyna is warm, pleasant, and very helpful. I highly recommended that you give this place a visit asap!

The "store" is a little too tight for my liking. And Pierogis were WAYYYY overpriced. I pick up the same ones in Chicago for half of what they charge...but...its the only place in DFW to get them that I've found. Food was really good and I like that the dining is small...would have been great for my Mom to have more authentic Polish music saying. Not like Polkas..lol..but maybe!

I don't see what all the hate is about. This small business is truly amazing. I’ve been here many times, and whether I’m shopping in the grocery section or sitting down to eat, the atmosphere is always great and the people are awesome. The staff is very cool and welcoming. I’ve met a few of them, including a very nice lady and a young gentleman. Since I didn't know much about the menu, the young gentleman recommended I try the Taste of Poland (which was delicious!) and gave me some other great suggestions. The owners are also very involved and friendly; I’ve chatted with them almost every time I’ve visited. The service is top-notch, and the food is the best around when you’re craving authentic Polish cuisine. While the hours can be a bit 'interesting' and shift from time to time, you have to remember it’s a small business managing everything themselves without extra help. They adapt as they go, and the food is absolutely worth the quick check to see if they’re open. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you want great food and even better people, definitely check them out!

First, the food. If you’ve only had canned sauerkraut, you’ve suffered a form of life abuse that should be included in the DSM. This is unlike any sauerkraut I had as a child. I literally gagged over the childhood (stuff). This sauerkraut, specifically the combination in their Hunters Stew, with bits of sausage, bacon, and mushrooms, could easily be included in someone’s Last Meal wish. Even an hour later I was still savoring that vinegary tingle in my mouth. Had I stumbled on the wonder of fermented foods? My wife got the pork schnitzel. What a grand and flavorful cutlet, if it could even be called a cutlet. It was enormous. Now, if you want to make the joy of the food go a like farther, combine some of the Hunter’s Stew with the schnitzel. OMG. An unexpected note. I’ve never seen a restaurant include cooking times. Take those cooking times SERIOUSLY. They are making homemade food for you. They aren’t seeking Slop ‘N Serve. I’m sure they have to deal with intolerant people who confuse this with “fast food.” If that’s you, don’t burden them with your low standards. That’s why they include the cooking time. The mashed potatoes, I guess, are similar to those in Poland. They aren’t mine and maybe not yours (butter and cream). I don’t know Polish cuisine. The dinner salad was a delight with pickles and fresh veggies. They were working off a condensed Holiday menu. They don’t sell alcoholic beverages. You can bring your own but there’s a charge for “I forget the word.” If this is important to you, CALL before you go or you may be disappointed. My wife is Polish and from Chicago. She said the store and restaurant reminded her of the little Mom and Pop stores in Chicago. In some ways, there’s parallels to the Italian Jimmy’s Food Store in downtown Dallas. The service on this Saturday middle of the afternoon was harried (slowish) in both the adjoining store and the restaurant. I don’t think this is just because of the careful preparation. I think it’s also because there’s a lot of business and not enough servers. That said, we were here for the experience, not speed. All the servers were kind and thoughtful, as well as apologetic when water wasn’t replenished quickly. The store is a charming, authentic hole in the wall reminiscent, at the very least, of hole in the wall Chicago-Polish store-restaurants. All in, this was a home run layover in a Poland. We’ll be back next week to buy some Hunters Stew to put in my wife’s pierogis! Mmmm. And after that to sit, eat, and talk. People apparently still do that while their food is being cooked!

Absolutely the best Polish food I’ve had stateside outside of my families. I’ve eaten a lot of Polish food and this is the closest to what I ate when I was in Poland. The pierogies are amazing and so is the stuffed cabbage. Their schnitzel is also fantastic. The people are always fantastic. Also the frozen pierogies in the store are delicious if you want to take some home. One of my favorite places !
